Must-see Attractions in Islamabad

You would adore traveling to Islamabad. There are several must-see attractions in the city that you definitely should not overlook experiencing. The metropolis that serves as Pakistan’s capital is a well-developed, luxuriantly verdant, and strikingly picturesque cosmopolitan city that is regarded as the second-most magnificent capital on the entire planet.

The city has a lot to offer visitors of all types, irrespective of whether they’re single, in a relationship, or older adolescents or adults. Every year, a large number of visitors from all over the world, including outdoorsy types, photographers, journalists, and adrenaline junkies, travel to Islamabad. So, if you are planning to visit this place, the must-see sights that Islamabad has to offer are listed in the paragraphs that follow.

Saidpur Village

A Mughal-era village, this location is unquestionably a must-visit. In reality, it contains relics from numerous civilizations that are examples of ancient culture and legacy. The location, which is on the foothills of the Margalla hills, is the ideal synthesis of urban development and traditional culture. There are numerous cafes and eateries that contribute to the village’s unique and genuine ambiance. There, one can truly revel in desi culture. If you’re a lover of history and culture, Saidpur Village is a great location for photos and exploring as well, so you’ll undoubtedly have a nice time there.

Margalla Hills

The Margalla Hills National Park’s boundaries include Rawal Lake, Shakarparian Park, as well as the Margalla Hills. Pir Sohawa and Daman-e-Koh are two of the most frequently visited places to visit in this area. A lovely park and viewing point can be found in Daman-e-Koh. Many tourists who are making their way up to Pir Sohawa, where the famed Monal Restaurant is located, stop here. Once in a while, snow will fall on the hills, but for the most part, Margalla Hills have sweltering, mild weather, with flora embracing the majority of the high landscape.

For hikers who want to appreciate the outdoors, the Margalla Hills include many different trails. Despite the numerous hiking trails in the area, Monal Restaurant and Pir Sohawa are also accessible by automobile via a well-paved roadway. The Pir Sohawa Road begins at the foot of the hills near Daman-e-Koh, adjacent to the Japanese Children Park and Islamabad Zoo. You can engage in a variety of activities once you get to the foot of the hills like birdwatching, hiking, rock climbing, and exploring the wildlife. Hence, you won’t be disappointed with the number of activities that Margalla Hills have to offer.

Lake-view Park (Rawal Dam)

A synthetic reservoir called Rawal Lake was constructed on the Korang River in Islamabad, which originates in the Margalla Hills. Along Rawal Lake, there is a leisure park and wildlife sanctuary called Lake View Park. The park is a high-quality amusement attraction that offers amenities such as a picnic area with allocated barbecue locations and grills, extreme sports like rock climbing and quad biking on F1 tracks, boating, fishing, a beautiful bird conservatory, train rides, eateries, and plenty more. An important draw to the region is a zoo that houses endangered bird species. Additionally, visitors have the option to eat and drink at a restaurant there as well. Overall, it is a picnic place that is highly recommended. Whenever you have two to three hours to spare, it is advisable to visit this public area close to the Kashmir Highway near Islamabad. You can stroll around and take in a wide range of activities onsite.

Lok Virsa

Pakistan, a young nation that only gained independence in 1947, has a wealth of historical sites that it can share with both domestic and international visitors. The capital, Islamabad, which is steeped in history, has a substantial impact on this. One of Pakistan’s best and most historic museums, Lok Virsa showcases various Pakistani ethnic groups’ way of life. You won’t spend much money touring there simply because the ticket fee is so minimal, and you’ll amuse yourself while discovering Pakistani heritage and traditions, among several other things.

Jinnah Supermarket

The most well-known bazaar in the city is Jinnah supermarket, which is located in the F-7 sector. The supermarket is shaped like a donut and is known to be the F-7 β€˜Gol Chakkar’, with jewelry shops and dhaba-style eateries in its entourage and a variety of other retailers on its periphery. The majority of folks frequent the Jinnah Supermarket.
Moreover, compared to the malls, the supermarket has a considerably wider selection of goods at significantly lower rates. For delicious street food and affordable shopping, make sure to stop by the Gol-chakkar!

We were a group of friends traveled with Exploria to the heavenly Northern Pakistan. The company made sure our tour experience goes smoothly. Accommodation, food, and the vehicle was the best. The trip was quite a challenge for Exploria due to the weather fluctuations however, the company made sure all things go smoothly. Thanks Exploria for an amazing tour experience. I would certainly recommend Exploria to all my friends and family.

I messaged Exploria in WhatsApp and got into contact with someone who introduced himself as Ashraf, one of the owners. On a Friday night I secured a booking for Monday for a day tour of Islamabad. I signed off with, "I'm looking forward to meeting you. See you Monday." On Sunday night I got a message asking if I was still interested in the tour because "I haven't heard back from you." I messaged back late night/early morning because of the timing of my flight and surprisingly heard from Ashraf. When I arrived in Islamabad, I messaged Ashraf at our appointed meeting time that I was in my hotel room and ready to meet when he was ready. I heard nothing back. I sent a brief query then took a nap. When I awoke, two hours after our scheduled meeting, still no response. So, I contacted the manager of the hotel and asked if he could suggest a tour for me. I was staying at a 5-star hotel (1st night only), so the manager took it upon himself to try and sort the issue with Exploria first. After several phone calls to both Ashraf's phone and the company's landline, I got one message from Ashraf stating he thought I didn't want the tour. At this point, the hotel manager had been contacting both numbers asking if someone was coming for my tour -- clearly I still wanted the tour! When I messaged that fact to Ashraf, he went radio silent again. Meanwhile, I had my tour of Islamabad with a guide the hotel set up -- at a much reduced rate. That evening I had a couple back-and-forths with Ashraf about how he thought I didn't want the tour because I "never got back to him." He kept doubling down that the communication issue was my fault despite my clear messaging and calls from the manager of a 5-star hotel! The cautionary tale is this: Mine was just a one-day tour, so my trip to Pakistan wasn't ruined. However, imagine if I'd secured their services for one of those multi-day, multi-location tours, and they left me stranded that way after I'd already arrived in the country. In short, I would be very leery of a company that has no problem ghosting a customer on the very day of a scheduled excursion.

Still in awe after watching picturesque sights at Hunza It was our company (Cricingif) trip managed by the cordial staff of Exploria. The AC coaster bus was in good condition and we didn't experience any problems in our journey to Gilgit Baltistan from Lahore. The hotels that they booked for us were good and I really enjoyed the indigenous music performance at Heavens Lodge hotel. Food was fine too as I was concerned about the hygiene, but it all turned out fine in the end. They can improve in the realm of guiding tourists at the spots that they take us to and share interesting insights about all those spectacular places in the beautiful Hunza valley. Nanga Parbat, Rakaposhi, Husseini Bridge, Forts, and Attabad Lake are all worth watching. I see Exploria becoming a top-notch company very soon if they continue to focus on providing immaculate services and keep customer satisfaction high. Thank you for a memorable trip!
